Blogging, to most of the world, is a joke. No one really thinks that you can make any real money blogging. Go ahead and tell your friends, family members, or coworkers that you’re going to quit your job to pursue blogging full time. They will laugh you right on out of there. It’s not that they don’t want you to succeed or have dreams, they’re just uneducated. Believe it or not, there’s blogs making upwards of $100,000 a month, and yours could be one of them. Here’s how to get rich blogging about your passion.
Create your blog.
Figure out what your passion is or what you want to blog about. Sure, you can blog about anything, but if you’re blogging about your passion, it makes blogging more fun! You don’t want to wake up and go to a job that you hate everyday. Same with blogging, you want to write blogs on topics you feel strongly about or that you really love. You will enjoy it more. Once you’ve decided on what you’re going to blog about, set up your blog. There are many platforms for this, although, the most popular is WordPress.
Start churning out content.
A blog is not a blog unless it has content. You need to create useful content that readers will find interesting. Create content that will help your readers in some way. If your readers feel like they are being helped in some way, they will find your content valuable. You want to build a relationship with your readers so that they will know, like, and trust you. This will keep your readers coming back for more. Once you start churning out the content, you have to be consistent with it. No one is going to revisit a blog that only has one post. You have to make a schedule and adhere to it. Make sure you’re creating blog posts at least three times a week.
Get readers and convert them to subscribers.
Once you’ve got interesting, useful content, you need to start promoting your blog so that you can recruit readers. Think about who your target audience is? Build an avatar of the ideal reader in your head and start thinking about what that type of person likes, where that person hangs out at online, and what other interests does this person have? Then, you need to develop an online presence on different social platforms where your targeted readers are. Start promoting your blog and engaging in conversation with your potential readers. The key is to make yourself known without being spammy and build relationships. Once you’ve captured your readers, you want them to remain on your blog and keep coming back for more. You need to set up an email list and start gathering emails as readers come to your blog. The more subscribers you have, the more money you make in the long run.
Build trust with your subscribers.
Start engaging with your readers by responding to comments and reaching out to those readers personally to keep them coming back. If you build trust with your readers, they’re more likely to spread the word about your blog. Build trust with your subscribers by sending them content that they can put to use. Don’t try to sell them anything up front, or else this will scare them away. Sending them useful content before you start bombarding them with links will definitely build up that trust.
Start making money!!
Once you’ve mastered everything above, which could take a little bit of time, then it’s time to start monetizing your blog. There a several different ways of making money from your blog. Many bloggers start with putting ads on their blog and collecting money from advertisers. Another way of monetizing your blog is through Affiliate income. Affiliate income is when you link to a product that is for sale on another site, like Amazon, for example, and if someone clicks your link and ends up buying that product, you earn a commission on that sale. Promoting products/services on your blog is another method to earning money. You could promote Ebooks, sell coaching, consulting services, or training. These are just a few ways to make an income from your blog. Many bloggers that have high income earning blogs, make money more than one way with their blog. Diversifying your income is not only smart, but it will get you rich sooner. Be patient, consistent, and choose what methods of bringing in revenue are right for you and your blog, and you’ll be well on your way to getting rich by blogging about your passion!
